We take health and safety seriously here at Approved Valeting. All our policies and processes are updated regularly to work in line with current Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance. We are continuously striving to improve, aiming to offer the best service possible and most importantly, carry out all tasks in the safest way for everyone.

An extension of your business

On obtaining new business, health and safety is at the forefront, playing a major part in the setup of any site. On ‘pre-launch’ our own Health and Safety Manager will carry out a full site inspection to ensure the area is safe and in workable condition. This has proved helpful for many of our clients who don’t have their own on-site health and safety advisors.

All our staff are inducted into the importance of health and safety with our bespoke training matrix. This includes:

Being issued with a copy of our health and safety policy.
Informed about welfare arrangements and our no smoking policy.
Made aware of first aid and fire provisions for the site they’ll be working on.
Issued with appropriate PPE, shown RAMS and training videos.
Trained on hazardous substance awareness and in COSHH.
Undergo an onsite driving assessment.

All the above are refreshed every six months or before if needed – for example, due to a site change.

Our area managers have all been put through the IOSH managing safely course, enabling them to offer continuous onsite training to staff, as well as off-site product training with our partners and suppliers. Communication plays a large part in keeping the health and safety culture of a business strong. Approved Valeting conduct regular toolbox talks, monthly site visits and a rewards scheme as an incentive.
